Announcing the launch of IRmax: Crowcon’s new premium infrared fixed-point hydrocarbon gas detector.
IRmax is an ultra-compact infrared (IR) gas detector which delivers rapid, fail-safe detection of hydrocarbon gases and vapours. The IRmax gas detection system offers the choice of a detector only, a local gas/status display, a remote gas/status display or non-intrusive calibration via an I.S. calibration tool or hand-held HART communicator.

IRmax is a completely new IR gas detector designed for protecting safety critical sites against hydrocarbon gas hazards. IRmax utilises the very latest NDIR (non-dispersive infrared) gas sensing components and techniques to provide rapid and dependable gas detection.
IRmax is constructed using 316 stainless steel and is compliant with the latest safety and performance standards. IRmax meets requirements of all major industrial sites, oil and gas installations and EPC’s (Engineering Procurement Contractors).
The IR Display features a large back-lit LCD, Red, Green and Amber status LED’s and three function buttons. A sounder is fitted to confirm key-press actions (this may not be audible in very loud environments). The IR Display provides the following functions whether used in Fixed, Remote or Hand-Held mode:
