The Phoenix team at the top of the final peak, Snowdon in Wales

Phoenix Survey Equipment Limited is one of Crowcon’s distributors in the UK. Phoenix sell service and repair Crowcon gas detection products as part of their range of surveying equipment. However, when they are not challenging themselves in the world of gas detection they like to test themselves by climbing mountains.

Earlier on this year six of Phoenix’s employees decided to take on the Three Peaks challenge raising money for the charity, South West Children’s hospice. With a target of raising £10K in sponsorship they asked for the support of the companies that they work closely with in their every day business and of course that involved gaining support from Crowcon.

The Three peaks challenge involves climbing the three highest mountains in Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Peak) and Wales (Snowdon) respectively within a 24 hour time frame regardless of poor weather conditions or darkness. Each mountain takes around 5 hours to climb and then there are at least 10 hours of driving in between the climbs. When you add all these times up it soon becomes apparent that 24 hours is a really tight timeframe!

Though they endured tough times throughout the challenge, we are pleased to announce that they did successfully complete it in the specified 24 hours and are well on their way to reaching their target of £10k in sponsorship.

We would like to congratulate all of those who took part in the challenge and commend them for their dedication in completing it and raising such a huge sum of money for such a deserving charity.
